Springer partners with the Chinese Society of Oceanography
September 1st, 2009
Springer, one of the leading publishers in the fields of science, technology and medicine, will publish the official journal of the Chinese Society of Oceanography (CSO) as of January 2010. Starting with Volume 29, Issue 1, Acta Oceanologica Sinica will be published at Springer both electronically and in print. The journal joins Springer's Chinese Library of Science, a collection of more than 90 high-quality, English-language research journals from China.
Founded in 1982, the journal provides a forum for high-quality research papers in the field of oceanography from all over the world. It encourages submissions from all branches of oceanography, including marine physics, marine chemistry, marine geology, marine biology, marine hydrology, marine meteorology, ocean engineering, marine remote sensing and marine environmental sciences. All papers are subject to peer review and will be published online on SpringerLink. The journal appears six times a year and was previously published by the CSO itself.
Professor Pan Delu, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Editor-in-Chief of Acta Oceanologica Sinica, said, "We are glad to collaborate with Springer in publishing this journal. We believe that the partnership will improve communication in the community of oceanographers and enhance the visibility of the journal internationally."
Dr. Hubertus von Riedesel, Executive Vice President, Physical Sciences and Engineering at Springer said, "Springer has a range of journals in oceanography and we are very excited that the Chinese Society of Oceanography has chosen to work with us. Acta Oceanologica Sinica will add value to our oceanography portfolio. Our online information platform SpringerLink will help disseminate the journal worldwide."
