On 10 April 2024, the NEUTRALPATH European project launched its Community of Practice (CoP) to fuel discussion and collaboration on climate neutrality. On that occasion, a first webinar was organised to dive deeper into sustainable energy practices, starting with the example of Dresden. The city is redesigning one of its neighbourhoods into a Positive and Clean Energy District, thanks to a successful collaboration with NEUTRALPATH project partners, including academia.

The Community of Practice: boosting professional collaboration for climate neutrality

The creation of the CoP stems from the need to create a forum for professionals to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration on the energy transition, positive energy districts and climate neutrality at the EU level.

The NEUTRALPATH Community of Practice was launched with a dedicated webinar, entitled "Revolutionizing Urban Energy: Best Practices and Opportunities for Replication." The webinar was the first of a three-part series. It was organised in collaboration with the University of Dresden to present the actions and practices the project is implementing in a Dresden neighbourhood, one of the European cities leading the way towards climate neutrality. Through expert insights into sustainable energy supply and planning, the session stressed the importance of collaboration among multiple local stakeholders, including academia, to ensure the success of this transformation.

Through collaborative webinars and forum discussions, the NEUTRALPATH project aims to create the perfect environment for replication, sharing insights and lessons learnt on challenges and opportunities linked to urban energy transformation. It will also use the learnings of the CoP to inform policy. This will be accomplished through policy dialogues that will take place as part of the capacity building programme of the project.

The Community of Practice webinars and forum are open to discussing all topics related to Positive Energy Districts – from sustainable energy solutions to green mobility, covering sustainable financing, investment schemes, and urban planning.

NEUTRALPATH and NetZeroCities: joining forces for climate neutrality

The NEUTRALPATH CoP is available via the NetZeroCities (NZC) portal, which will enable participants to share resources and engage in discussions with some 4,000 diverse users from Mission and Non-Mission Cities.

Through its connection with the NZC Platform, the participants will be able to use the collective expertise and resources of its members to drive positive change and accelerate progress towards our shared climate goals.

The NEUTRALPATH Community of Practice is an open forum that welcomes professionals from all backgrounds devoted to the development of climate-neutral solutions in the sectors of energy, mobility, and construction.
