November 4th, 2024
Part of the Webinar series "Unlocking Biodiversity Value in Spatial Planning—A Webinar Reflection Journey to Enhance Transformation", the fourth webinar will be held on the 18th of November, and it is open to interested stakeholders outside the project.
The BioValue project keeps taking more and more steps towards enhancing biodiversity value. The project leverages transformative change by articulating a research framework based on three instrumental perspectives—spatial planning, environmental assessment, and economic and financing instruments. BioValue framework is also tested in three case studies, that are defined as "Arenas for transformation": Rewetting Peatlands and reforestation under the climate initiative in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany); Municipal spatial planning in Mafra (Portugal); and Urban planning in Trento (Italy).
In this context, Biovalue partners have organized a webinar series titled "Unlocking Biodiversity Value in Spatial Planning—A Webinar Reflection Journey to Enhance Transformation" to foster dialogues with stakeholders. The purpose of the meetings is to create dialogue sessions with researchers, spatial planners, civil society and experts in the field of biodiversity from across Europe. Three webinars have already been held: you can find more details on our website, or watch the recordings on our YouTube channel.
The next and fourth webinar will be held on Monday, 18th of November, from 3:00—4:30 pm (CET), titled "Biodiversity relevant transformative changes in spatial planning". The meeting is an opportunity to discuss how to on enhance the transformative potential of spatial planning in valuing biodiversity. The focus will be on exploring possible pathways to initiate, accelerate, and scale up biodiversity-relevant transformative changes in spatial planning. A working group session will also take place to gather input and feedback on transformative pathways directly from the stakeholders.
The webinar is directed towards planning experts and professionals, consultants, private sectors and business associations, NGOs representatives, policymakers and decision-makers at different scales—from local to EU level.
The webinar is open to all interested participants. To register, please follow this link.
