User-generated content copyright

The author(s) warrants that the submitted Article is the original work of the author(s) and has never been published nor is it under consideration by any other publisher in its present form.

The author warrants that this contribution is original and that he/she has full power to make this grant. The author signs for and accepts responsibility for releasing this material on behalf of any and all co-authors.

All authors of the Article, individually or through his or her authorized representative identified above (the “Author”), agree with Science X (the “Publisher”) as follows:

The Author hereby transfers to Science X all right, title, and interest in and to the Article, including all rights to copyright in the United States, European Union and throughout the world, for the life of such rights.

However, the following rights are reserved by the Author:

1. All proprietary rights other than copyright, such as patent rights;
2. The right to use, free of charge, all or part of the Article in future works of the Author's own creation, such as books and lectures;
3. The right to distribute the work provided that all such use is for the personal non-commercial benefit of the author(s);
4. Terms of payment will be renegotiated upon a second edition or upon reprinting elsewhere.

An author may self-archive an author-created version of his/her article on his/her own website and his/her institution’s repository. However, the author may only post his/her version provided acknowledgement is given to the original source of publication and a link is inserted to the published article on Science X's websites.

Each Author represents and warrants to Science X that: (a) he or she has obtained, in writing, all permissions required for the inclusion, use, reprinting, adaptation (if any) and publication, in the Article, of any copyrighted material (including, without limitation, any diagrams, photographs, or figures) and of any quotations attributed to a person or entity; (b) he or she has submitted copies of such permissions to Science X with the Article; (c) all authors of and contributors to the work have been identified above and no commitments have been made to any others with respect to the Article or its use; (d) the Article is original, does not infringe upon any statutory or common law copyright, proprietary right, right to privacy, or any other right of any other person, and is not libelous; and (e) if the Article contains any instructions or practical information, then such instructions or practical information are not potentially injurious to the user and that the Article contains appropriate cautionary and warning language. Each Author hereby indemnifies, holds harmless and defends Science X from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including attorney fees) arising from or relating to the breach of any representation or warranty made by the Author.

This Agreement and all issues relating to it shall be governed by the laws of the European Union.
