SAGE to launch United European Gastroenterology Journal

August 30th, 2012

UEG Journal will be UEG's official platform for scientific publication. Published bi-monthly, and edited by Editor-in-Chief Professor Jan Tack, the journal will focus on providing coverage of both translational as well as clinical studies from all fields of gastroenterology including luminal, liver and pancreatic diseases, gastrointestinal surgery, gastrointestinal oncology, paediatric gastroenterology, nutrition and endoscopy.

"We are delighted to have been selected by UEG to work on their flagship journal," said Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE. "At SAGE we highly value our society partners and are committed to supporting their goals of the widespread dissemination of scholarship. We are looking forward to developing our relationship with UEG and providing this much-needed international forum for scholars in this area."

"The launch of the journal is a significant milestone in the development of UEG and will consolidate its position as the voice of gastroenterology," commented Professor Colm O'Morain, President of UEG. "SAGE was appointed as publisher on account of their track record of professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment." Professor Markus Lerch, Chair of the Publication Committee further commented, "from the publishing houses we looked into, SAGE was the most committed to making UEG Journal their top priority. Their track record and professionalism clearly made them the most attractive home for the new UEG Journal."

The first issue will launch with SAGE in February 2013. The journal's website will be http://ueg.sagepub.com
