October 9th, 2012

Journalists can register now to attend the 24th EORTC-NCI-AACR symposium on molecular targets and cancer therapeutics held by three of the world's leading cancer research organisations: the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) , the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).

Around 2,200 international cancer experts will be attending the meeting to discuss the latest advances in pre-clinical and clinical research in areas such as: understanding the pathways and mechanisms that cause cancer and regulate the biological behaviour of tumour cells; the development of new agents; 'designer' diagnostics; prognostic tests; 'smart' drugs; innovative targets for clinical trials; and other entirely new ways of tackling cancer.

The majority of the abstracts for the meeting will be posted online at 09.00 hrs CEST on 23 October. Some will only be published online at 07.00 hrs CET on the day of presentation to the meeting. These include those that are the subject of an official symposium press release.
