AGA publications unveil new iPad apps, website
In order to best meet the needs of members, the American Gastroenterological Association has launched new electronic offerings to make it easier for busy health-care professionals to stay abreast of the latest research and news in gastroenterology while on the go.
Gastroenterology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology Launch iPad Apps
Both AGA journals, Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, have launched iPad apps, which are free to download in the Apple App store. The apps are full of intuitive features, including easy-to-navigate table of contents, abstract previews, full-text and PDF views, and note-taking, bookmarking and sharing functionality. Content dating back to January 2011 for both journals are included in the apps.
To locate the apps in the Apple App store, search for Gastroenterology or Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The apps will appear in the device's "Newsstand" after download. AGA members and journal subscribers can access the full-text content of each journal issue on their iPad at no additional cost. GI & Hepatology News Launches Website
Readers of the AGA's official newspaper, GI & Hepatology News, can now receive the latest news in the field as soon as it breaks. The new website—www.gihepnews.com—publishes stories online in advance of the print edition and is optimized for smart phones, enabling readers to easily browse the same breaking news on-the-go.
Other features include a video library of interviews, reports and expert commentary on new research; summaries of important articles and podcast interviews with authors from the AGA journals; comprehensive DDW coverage; and easy-to-navigate "specialty focus" article collections, making specific content instantly accessible.
