The 2013 International Conference on Genomics in Europe will take place in Ghent, Belgium
Hundreds of researchers and experts from all over the world are scheduled to convene in Ghent, Belgium, from June 25-28 for the 2013 International Conference on Genomics in Europe (ICG-Europe 2013). The conference, co-organized by BGI and VIB, will feature cutting-edge research, focusing on the latest developments in plant and animal genomics, metagenomics, as well as the the growing application of next-gen sequencing and advanced bioinformatics in the fields such as human diseases, biomedical research, and translational medicine.
The three-day conference will consist of 11 sessions featuring over 60 presentations. Included among the featured speakers will be scientists and university leaders, company directors, senior executives and CEOs from Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, U.S.A., Denmark, Australia, United Kingdom, France, China, etc . Ample networking opportunities are available for attendees to exchange views and discuss the latest advances and applications of Omics technologies. Researchers from around the globe are invited to attend ICG-2013.
Besides these sessions, two parallel workshops will be held at ICG Europe. The workshop "Innovation-Entrepreneurship in Venture Creation", will feature talks on launching spinout companies from research institutes, and will offer insights into VC and Pharma Venture arms view in investments in the genomics industry. The second workshop has a focus on ELSIs capturing the multi-dimensional issues and interrelationship among Environment, Health and Society.
It is the second time that BGI, the world largest genomic research organization, to bring Europe its acclaimed International Conference on Genomics (ICG). The first ICG-Europe was successfully conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark last May. "The past ICG Europe has achieved great success.
