FASEB SRC announces conference: Mitochondrial Assembly & Dynamics in Health, Disease & Aging

The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) announces the opening of registration for the Science Research Conference (SRC): Mitochondrial Assembly and Dynamics in Health, Disease and Aging.

The 2013 Conference on Mitochondrial Assembly and Dynamics in Health, Disease and Aging is a timely and unique scientific conference, where diverse aspects of mitochondrial biology and dysfunction are explored through formal talks, poster sessions, and intensive scientific discussion. This meeting includes outstanding researchers from around the world, presenting cutting-edge research directed towards a fundamental understanding of the basic biology and biochemistry of mitochondria and their increasingly recognized roles in human disease.

The underlying theme of the 2013 conference is to foster productive interactions between investigators that study important basic aspects of mitochondrial structure and function and those focused on how disruption of mitochondrial homeostasis contributes to disease pathogenesis. It is expected that this meeting will spur collaborations and promote a more comprehensive understanding of this complex organelle and how its dysfunction contributes to human diseases and aging.
