Agenda available for 15th Annual Echocardiography Conference to be held April 3-5 in NYC
WHAT:
A preliminary agenda for the 15th Annual State-of-the-Art Echo Course is now available at: http://www.nyechocourse.com/the-conference/agenda.html.
The three-day conference will feature the latest recommendations from the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) for echocardiographic evaluation of cardiac structure and function, as well as the most recent technological advances in the field. Topics at this year's meeting will include:
- Reviews of echo quantitation
- Appropriateness criteria for echo, valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, echocardiography in systolic and diastolic heart failure, pericardial disease, coronary artery disease and stress echocardiography
- New imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, vascular imaging)
- Invasive echocardiography (TEE and intracardiac echocardiography)
- Congenital heart disease cardiac masses
WHY:
There are few noninvasive and nonradiographic imaging tests that can yield as much information about the heart as an echocardiogram. A noninvasive tool with a high safety profile that is well accepted by patients, echocardiography is an invaluable tool for assessing disease effects and treatment outcomes on cardiac structure and function. Newer echocardiographic tools continue to advance our understanding of myocardial mechanics and disease detection.
This year's conference will feature nationally recognized experts who will present the most up-to-date research in the field as well as hands-on demonstrations of basic and advanced Doppler echocardiography.
WHO:
Rebecca T. Hahn, MD will serve as Course Director. She is the Director of Interventional Echocardiography at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Hahn previously directed the echocardiography lab at North Shore University Hospital and was the Director of Clinical Echocardiography at Cornell University.
