Biennial meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development

The Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) will hold its biennial meeting in Seattle, April 18 – April 20, 2013 at the Washington State Convention Center. This meeting brings together thousands of leading US and international experts to present and hear the latest interdisciplinary research in child development. Invited presentations are not embargoed for public release and may appear in stories in advance of the meeting.

Some of the invited presentations that might interest reporters include:

Single-sex education: dysfunctional segregation or desirable solution?
Lack of sleep in adolescence—pathways, targets and treatments
The early environment, gene expression, and brain development—how parenting produces lasting effects on cognitive and emotional development
A new look at improving STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education
Intervening in school bullying—new research on why context matters
The colorization of North America's children: science, policy, and practice

All non-invited (i.e., peer-reviewed) presentations at this year's meeting will be embargoed for release on the first day of the meeting, April 18, 2013, 6:00 a.m., Eastern.
