Media advisory for Entomology 2013 in Austin, Texas

Nearly 3,500 insect scientists will swarm to the Austin Convention Center from November 10-13, 2013 for the 61st Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of America.

Topics covered during the meeting will include bed bugs, honey bees, Colony Collapse Disorder, fire ants, genetically modified crops (GMOs), pest management, mosquitoes, insecticide resistance, forensic entomology, insect-borne diseases, insect evolution, arthropod repellents, invasive species, stink bugs, ticks, and more.

In addition to the scientific presentations, the meeting will also feature a hall with more than 50 exhibitors, social events, student debates and contests, the Linnaean Games, and more.

Members of the media are also invited to attend the Austin Insect Rodeo Expo at the Bullock Texas State History Museum on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
