Media, small businesses invited to ACS webinar on green chemistry project financing

News media and scientists interested in finance, entrepreneurships and the chemical sciences are invited to join an American Chemical Society (ACS) Small & Medium Business Webinar on tips and strategies to find Environmental Protection Agency (EPA ) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) priority funding for environmental technology projects.

Scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24, 2 - 3 p.m. Eastern Time, the webinar will feature April Richards, Deputy Director of the SBIR Program for EPA.

The webinar's topic is "Government, Green Chemistry, and You: Finding and Securing Small
Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Funding from the EPA."

Richards has worked as a fellow on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, where she provided technical expertise on environmental issues. Prior to that, she worked for five years in private industry with an environmental engineering consulting firm in Florida primarily in the area of drinking water treatment. She holds a Master's degree in civil/environmental engineering and is a licensed, professional engineer.

The ACS Small & Medium Business Webinar Series is scheduled monthly into 2009 to address current topics of interest to entrepreneurs and small- to medium-sized businesses in the chemical/biopharma enterprise. There will be a 30-minute presentation with Wolfe followed by a 25-minute Q & A session.
