Springer and Politecnico di Torino launch new book series

September 23rd, 2015

Springer, part of the newly formed publishing group Springer Nature, and Politecnico di Torino, Italy's oldest technical university, will partner to publish a new book series called PoliTO Springer Series. Focusing on cutting-edge research and practical applications across a wide spectrum of fields, the series will publish around 15 books a year.

The PoliTO Springer Series will cover a range of professional and academic topics in the main research areas carried out at Politecnico di Torino. These include mathematics and statistics, chemistry and physical sciences, computer science and all fields of engineering. Interdisciplinary contributions which combine these areas will also be published.

The series will consist of lecture notes, research monographs and briefs. Lectures notes are meant to provide quick information on current research advances and may be based on summer schools or intensive courses. SpringerBriefs are intended as concise summaries of up-to-date research and practical applications. All books in the series are available as eBooks on Springer's online platform http://www.springerlink.com and in print-to-order (PTO) format.

Giovanni Ghione, Editor-in-Chief of the series and Head of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications at the Politecnico di Torino, said, "This new book series is devoted to the publication of fundamental research and applications within the different classical disciplines carried out at the Politecnico di Torino. We trust that working with Springer will contribute to further developments in the applied sciences. We chose to work with Springer, an outstanding publisher in science and technology, to be able to support the Politecnico di Torino in disseminating and developing scientific discoveries and knowledge worldwide."

Francesca Bonadei, Executive Editor, Mathematics and Statistics at Springer, said, "Springer is proud to introduce this book series to the international scientific community. The PoliTO Springer Series will promote international authorship and address a global readership of scholars, students, researchers, professionals and policymakers. Springer is delighted to start publishing works with such a distinguished group of researchers from one of the top Italian universities. The series is open to academics not only from Politecnico, but also from other universities around the world. Both scientific and teaching contributions are welcome in this series."
