Prasad honored with Pride of India Award

M.G. Prasad, a professor at Stevens Institute of Technology, was recently awarded the Bharat Gaurav Award by the Indian International Friendship Society.

Prasad, who serves as Director of the Noise and Vibration Control Laboratory in Department of Mechanical Engineering, was honored because of his "worthy example, which inspires others toward remarkable achievement," according to the organization.

The award, which translates into English as "The Pride of India Award," will be presented on January 7, 2010 in New Delhi during a conference on Global Participation in India's Economic Development.

Top leaders, economists, entrepreneurs, and professionals are scheduled to speak at the conference.

The India International Friendship Society was founded as a non-Profit non-Governmental Organization (NGO) on four very strong pillars - friendship, patriotism, commitment and ethical values.
