World Scientific and IISc Bangalore : Launch of Remember Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose
World Scientific and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc Bangalore) will jointly launch the book Remembering Sir J C Bose on December 9, 2009.
Examining the scientific achievements of Sir Bose, the pioneer of wireless communication, the book will feature his life in colonial India including the general patriotic environment that pervaded at the time and how he became one of the flag bearers of the Bengal Renaissance.
Professor D.P. Sen Gupta, Honorary Professor at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore and a co-author of the book, said, “Many of us do not realise the efforts spent to what we enhance our way of living and thus take the technology that has made our lives easier for granted. This book is an appreciation for the accomplished works of Sir Bose that have formed the foundation of the wireless communication we enjoy today.”
