DIRECTION Consortium gathers in Munich for final meeting and event

March 16th, 2016 DIRECTION Dissemination & Communication Secretariat

Munich was the setting for DIRECTION's last periodic meeting, held between 16 – 18 February, which included a final event, entitled "Achieving high performance based on real buildings and results".

The gathering, led by project co-ordinators Sergio Sanz and Julia Vicente from CARTIF, was the opportunity to look back on over 4 years of endeavours towards demonstrating how to design and construct very low energy buildings in line with the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). As the project wraps up, members from all the companies and organisations involved reviewed the work and took stock of the results with particular emphasis on the plan for transferability/replicability and on ICT tool analysis.

Attending this final meeting was the Project Officer, Mrs Orsola Mautone, who took the opportunity to congratulate the project consortium for its efforts and achievements over the past years.

During the proceedings, delegates visited several offices as well as the technical installations of the NuOffice, one of the DIRECTION demonstration buildings. They were able to get first-hand experience of how the project solutions are being applied and they received detailed explanations of specific input areas.

On the afternoon of the 17th the DIRECTION Final Event, entitled "Achieving high performance based on real buildings and results" was hosted by Dr Roland Göttig at the Institute of Building Physics of the Technical University of Munich. The aim was to share the lessons drawn from the project with architects, developers and engineers, including master and doctoral students.
