ACEC names Dr. David Vaccari Educator of the Year 2009
Dr. David Vaccari, an associate professor at Stevens Institute of Technology was recently awarded the 2009 Educator of the Year Award from the New Jersey Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
Vaccari, who serves as director of the Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering Department at the Schaefer School of Engineering and Management, was singled out because of his "positive impact upon the engineering profession."
The ACEC is the voice of America's engineering industry. Council members - numbering more than 5,500 firms throughout the country - are engaged in a wide range of engineering works that propel the nation's economy, and enhance and safeguard America's quality of life. These works allow Americans to drink clean water, enjoy a healthy life, take advantage of new technologies, and travel safely and efficiently. The Council's mission is to contribute to America's prosperity and welfare by advancing the business interests of member firms.
Vaccari will receive the award during the New Jersey ACEC annual banquet on March 18, 2010.
