University of Rochester and West Health Collaborate on d.health Summit 2017
In collaboration with West Health, the University of Rochester is hosting the third annual d.health Summit, a forum for health care and technology leaders, entrepreneurs, senior care advocates and policymakers to exchange ideas, create new partnerships, and foster disruptive technological and process innovations to improve the lives of the nation's aging population.
d.health Summit 2017: Successful Aging 2030 will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at The New York Academy of Sciences, 7 World Trade Center (250 Greenwich St., 40th Floor), New York, NY.

For the first time, the University of Rochester-developed Summit will be co-hosted by West Health, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enabling seniors to successfully age in place, with access to high-quality, affordable health and support services that preserve and protect their dignity, quality of life and independence.
"It will take close collaboration and urgent action from a range of stakeholders to ensure our seniors can successfully age in America," said Summit co-chair Shelley Lyford, president and CEO of West Health, which includes an applied medical research institute, policy center and private foundation solely funded by philanthropists Gary and Mary West. "We are proud to collaborate on this important meeting as seniors need innovative thinking now to ensure access to the services and supports they require."
"With more than 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, we know that our current healthcare system and our country as a whole are not prepared for this growing and costly demographic shift," said Summit co-chair Abraham (Avi) Seidmann, PhD, Professor, University of Rochester Simon Business School.
"This year's Summit will identify the unique and specific healthcare needs of seniors by 2030 - and the roles of technology, finance and policy to accelerate this sweeping transformation," said Summit co-chair Ray Dorsey, MD, Professor of Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
