Springer will publish Chinese Journal of Polymer Science

January 19th, 2010

Springer, a leading publisher in the fields of science, technology and medicine, will publish the Chinese Journal of Polymer Science (CJPS), the official journal of the Chinese Chemical Society and the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as of January 2010.

The journal joins Springer's Chinese Library of Science, a collection of about 90 high-quality, English-language research journals from China. The journal will be available in print and electronically on www.springerlink.com.

CJPS is a peer-reviewed, bi-monthly journal dedicated to the timely publication of original research ideas and results in the field of polymer science. The issues comprise regular papers, rapid communications and notes, as well as feature articles. CJPS reflects the new achievements obtained in various laboratories in China, but also includes papers submitted by scientists from the international community.

CJPS is one of the leading English-language polymer journals in China. The journal is edited by a distinguished editorial board headed by Professor Fo-Song Wang, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is supported by an advisory board made up of accomplished polymer scientists from all over the world. The journal was first published in 1983 under the title Polymer Communications and changed its name to CJPS in 1985.

"Chemistry is a vital topic with strong research interest in China. The Chinese Chemical Society and the Institute of Chemistry under the Chinese Academy of Sciences are the best research bodies in China. This journal initiates our cooperation with these excellent institutions and we hope that it will develop into more journals under the umbrella of the Chinese Chemical Society. We are confident that further high-quality, China-based international journals will join the Chinese Library of Science," said Lu Ye, Director of China Editorial Project Management at Springer.

Professor Fo-Song Wang, Editor-in-Chief of CJPS, said: "We believe that the international distribution of the journal via SpringerLink will improve communication in the polymer science community. We hope it will help push forward polymer science research."
