Springer book wins Texty Award

March 17th, 2010

The Text and Academic Authors Association (TAA) has chosen the Springer book Fatigue of Structures and Materials by Jaap Schijve as the recipient of the 2010 TAA "Texty" Textbook Excellence Award. The award will be presented on 26 June 2010 during the TAA Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Fatigue of Structures and Materials, now in its second edition, is primarily a textbook written for those working on fatigue problems of engineering structures and materials associated with design, predictions, load spectra and experimental verifications. The first edition of this book was well received and has been used extensively in various courses at universities and technical colleges as well as in industries and at research institutes. A CD-ROM has been added to the second edition and is a valuable tool for a new generation of students.
