Stanford pollster to discuss latest survey on global warming

June 8th, 2010

On Thursday, June 10, from 2-3:30 p.m. EDT, Stanford University Professor Jon Krosnick will discuss Americans' views on global warming at a public briefing on Capitol Hill.

Krosnick is a professor of communication and of political science and senior fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford. He is just completing a new poll on global warming sponsored by the National Science Foundation. The poll covers a broad range of questions about Americans' attitudes on global warming, including the impact of the recent "climategate" email-controversy on public opinion.

Thursday's briefing - hosted by the Environmental and Energy Study Institute - will take place at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. It is particularly timely, given the scheduled June 10 Senate debate on Sen. Murkowski's amendment on regulating greenhouse gases.
