Silicon Valley energy summit at Stanford
The 2010 Energy Summit is a signature event of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and the Stanford University Precourt Energy Efficiency Center, attracting a broad range of executives and representatives from influential Silicon Valley companies and organizations.
The summit serves as a manual for sustainable business by combining current best practices with a guide to upcoming technologies and government regulation regarding energy.
During the one-day event, participants learn that sustainable energy use is about more than feel-good environmentalism; it is about planning for growth in a market of diminishing resources and changing stakeholder priorities.
Speakers include:
U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Energy and expert on renewable energy and clean energy policies.
George Shultz, former U.S. Secretary of State, now with Stanford's Hoover Institution and honorary co-chair of Californians for Clean Energy and Jobs, will moderate the panel discussion, "California's Carbon Policy What's in Store?"
Chris Johns, president of Pacific Gas Electric Company, will present the opening keynote, "Smart Grid Silicon Valley: The Path to a Clean, Reliable Energy Future."
