Louisiana Center for Health Equity Summit is Back in Person for 2023 with Impressive Lineup of Keynote Speakers

September 26th, 2023

BATON ROUGE—The Louisiana Center for Health Equity (LCHE) is committed to advancing health equity and well-being for all Louisianans. LCHE works to eliminate health disparities that are a result of multiple disadvantages. After conducting the summit virtually, the past few years due to COVID-19, the summit is back in person.

There is a growing need to address health inequities in our state, especially as Louisiana remains at the bottom of the list when it comes to the healthiest states in the nation. With multiple national stories about the poor state of maternal health in Louisiana, putting a focus on women and children was a top priority for this year's summit. The two-day summit, in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Health and Pennington Biomedical, will explore innovative approaches and strategies to improve the health and well-being of our communities. The overall purpose of the health summit is to expand collaboration and engagement on LA40by2030, our bold vision of improving health outcomes and the quality of life for Louisiana children and families. The goal of our collective work is for Louisiana to rank in the top 40 for health outcomes by 2030. This work includes identifying, developing, and promoting practices and policies to support children and families.
