American Chemical Society Webinar focuses on diversity in business
News media and others interested in the chemical sciences are invited to join the next in a series of American Chemical Society (ACS) Webinars™ focusing on diversity in business.
Scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 16, from 2 - 3 p.m. EDT, the free ACS Webinar™ will feature diversity consultants Cathy Bristow and Lolita Chandler speaking on Diversity: Old Topic — Fresh Conversations.
ACS Webinars™ connect you with subject experts and global thought leaders in chemical sciences, management and business to address current topics of interest to scientific and engineering professionals. Each webinar includes a short presentation followed by a Q & A session.
News media and scientists can tune into the conference without charge but must register in advance.
Participants will learn:
- Strategies for positioning the diversity conversation — how to get leaders to listen
- The potential of not knowing -- using what you don't know to unleash engagement and innovation
- Generational differences -- differences as an asset
- Tips to get listeners to "tune in" — inspiring fresh conversations
Chandler is currently an adjunct instructor in the Diversity Management Certificate Program at
Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations, in Ithaca, N.Y. She works as a consultant to education and industry, where her focus is on facilitating engaging conversations about diversity and inclusion that inspire listeners to action. Chandler holds a master's degree in education from Teachers' College, Columbia University, NY. Bristow is founder of BRIDGES, a New York consulting firm. She holds a B.S. from Wheelock College and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
