Military medicine symposium to explore regenerative medicine, behavioral health

The 2010 USU-HJF Military Medicine Symposium, co-hosted by the Center for Public-Private Partnerships at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), will take place on Sept. 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, in Washington, D.C.

During the one-day symposium, civilian and military clinicians and researchers will explore:

• the potential role regenerative medicine could play in treating wounded warriors
  
• behavioral health care and treatment with an emphasis on suicide prevention and efforts to support military families and foster servicemember resilience
  
• public-private partnerships as a means of bridging gaps in military medical care and research
