Tecnalia to host the international 2011 IDDRG Conference in Bilbao
Tecnalia will be hosting the international 2011 IDDRG conference in Bilbao between the 5th and the 8th of June 2011. This time it will be on sustainability in sheet forming processes. Sixty papers have been accepted so far, and 5th November is the deadline for receiving abstracts.
The IDDRG (International Deep-Drawing Research Group) is an international set-up in which researchers, scientists and engineers worldwide meet to share their experiences and concerns in the sphere of metal forming. On this occasion, the IDDRG will be hosted by Tecnalia and it will be tackling the subject of sustainability, which has turned into a goal for consumers, administrations and companies. Efficient energy consumption, waste cutting, raw material optimization or the use of lighter materials that reduce vehicle weight and CO2 emissions are just some of the subjects to be tackled at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao, without losing sight of the importance of making sustainability compatible with competitive costs and product quality.
With a view to achieving this ambitious goal in the sheet metal forming sector, the scientific and technological community is working together in a broad range of disciplines, like modelling and monitoring, optimization and design, tools and innovative materials.
