Biodiversity science in Quebec: 2010 and beyond

The Québec Center for Biodiversity Science (QCBS) cordially invites you to its first annual symposium. We expect to see many partners from government, the private sector and NGOs to reflect upon and build on the momentum generated in 2010, the International Year of Biodiversity.

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS TO DATE:

Dr. Thomas Lovejoy, Biodiversity chair at the H. John Heinz III Centre for Science, Economics, and the Environment. Dr Lovejoy is an internationally recognized expert in biological diversity science and conservation. In 1980, he was the first person to use the term "biological diversity". He will present an overview of the findings of the Council of Canadian Academies' Expert Panel that evaluated The State and Trends of Biodiversity Science in Canada, and share his perspectives on the events that took place at the Biodiversity Summit in Nagoya (Japan) this October.
