A New Recipe for Fair, Sustainable, and Healthy Food Systems
The SPOON project highlights the journey toward community-led food systems.
Food systems across Europe are under increasing pressure. Greenhouse gas emissions from food production, rising food waste, and unequal access to healthy food represent urgent challenges that demand action. Yet the people most affected are often left out of the conversation.
To address these issues, the EU-funded project SPOON combines scientific research with community-driven actions to co-create a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable food future.
To share this vision, SPOON has released a new project video. Framed around the metaphor of a recipe, the video highlights the key ingredients SPOON uses to reshape food systems: citizen science labs, behaviour change interventions, and an innovative digital toolkit.
The project video is now available here.
The SPOON journey is unfolding across six pilot sites in Europe, where local communities are taking the lead to explore their food environments, collect and analyse data, and co-design practical solutions for more sustainable behaviours.
