Transforming food systems together: European experts gather in Copenhagen for two major conferences

October 31st, 2025

FOOD2030 Networks Conference and Transformative Governance for Food Systems and Biodiversity Conference to take place in Copenhagen on 2–3 December 2025

This December, researchers, innovators, and policymakers will convene in Copenhagen for two high-level events aimed at accelerating the transformation of Europe's food systems.

Organised by the CLEVERFOOD project, the events will take place in the context of the upcoming Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, aligning with its priorities of building a competitive and green Europe. On 2 December 2025, CLEVERFOOD will host the FOOD2030 Networks Conference, a gathering designed to strengthen cooperation and capacity-building across Europe's community of stakeholders working to reshape the agri-food sector.

The conference will spotlight the FOOD2030 Networks, a collaborative platform uniting EU-funded projects, partnerships, living labs, and policy labs to foster knowledge exchange and the uptake of innovative solutions for sustainable food production and consumption.

Participants will include project coordinators, researchers, and representatives from EU living labs engaged in advancing sustainable food initiatives. Through interactive sessions and a dedicated poster exhibition, the conference will promote new synergies and joint action to support the transition towards greener practices.

The discussions of the first day will set the stage for the Transformative Governance for Food Systems and Biodiversity Conference on 3 December 2025, organised in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, IPBES Denmark, and the Danish Ministry of Green Transition.

This second event will focus on translating research and innovation into evidence-based, multi-level governance for sustainable food systems. It will convene leaders and change agents from policy, industry, academia, and civil society to explore how governance can drive a just, sustainable, and biodiversity-friendly future across Europe. Together, these two conferences will enhance collaboration, dialogue, and action, turning research into tangible progress for Europe's agricultural and food sectors.
