1 week to go until the EUROECHO 2010 Congress in Copenhagen
EUROECHO 2010 is the official congress of the European Association of Echocardiography (EAE), and will be held in Copenhagen between 8 and 11 December 2010. The latest techniques in non-invasive diagnostic imaging will be presented to 3,000 participants during a full programme of 200 scientific papers, poster sessions and workshops. The EAE is a registered branch of the European Society of Cardiology.
Sophia Antipolis, 2 December 2010: The European Association of Echocardiography (EAE) http://www.escardio.org/communities/EAE/Pages/welcome.aspx is pleased to report that preparations for this year's annual congress, EUROECHO 2010, are complete and it is ready to welcome 3,000 professionals to the Bella Centre in Copenhagen on 8 December. The EAE is focused on promoting excellence in the areas of diagnosis, research, technology and education related to cardiovascular ultrasound and other imaging modalities.
EUROECHO is one of the largest and most important scientific meetings on non-invasive cardiovascular imaging anywhere in the world. This year's Congress has two themes:
Diagnosis of aorta and vascular diseases - chosen to reflect growing interest in developing imaging techniques that assess the performance of the complete cardiovascular system and evaluate the relationships between the heart and vascular system.
3D echo for guiding percutaneous procedures in the cath lab - chosen because 3D ultrasound is an exciting, relatively new technique that offers great promise for non-invasive monitoring of interventional procedures for which the alternative would be surgical intervention.
Although online registration is now closed, participants can still attend by completing registration formalities at the event itself. The full scientific programme can be reviewed here http://spo.escardio.org/Welcome.aspx?eevtid=42 while accredited journalists can obtain a press pack from the ESC Press Office.
