RootLinks project launches new video on role of Europe's primary producers in the bioeconomy
The EU-funded project Rootlinks has released a video about the role and challenges of primary producers in ecosystem and the bioeconomy.
The video is available here.
Despite their central role, many primary producers remain insufficiently involved in research, development and innovation activities. This limits their integration into circular bio-based value chains that could deliver tangible benefits, including more sustainable production systems, new business models, and additional income opportunities for rural and coastal regions.
The RootLinks video illustrates how primary producers nourish ecosystems and sustain the bioeconomy, while highlighting the practical barriers they face in accessing innovation, knowledge and emerging markets. It brings visibility to both their contribution and their untapped potential.
Funded by the European Union and supported by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), RootLinks works to remove these barriers by connecting, supporting and empowering primary producers. By promoting their active participation in the Working Group on Primary Producers the project enables them to engage with innovation processes, co-create solutions and take an active role in shaping Europe's circular and bio-based value chains.
By strengthening these connections, RootLinks contributes to more resilient value chains that benefit producers, industry and the environment alike. When primary producers are fully integrated, the bioeconomy can better deliver on its promise of sustainability, competitiveness and regional development.
