Construction technology project publishes 5 info packs on safety and digital solutions
The BEEYONDERS project is sharing the results of its four years of work in construction safety and digital technology through a series of concise technical documents, each focused on a specific area of innovation.
The European construction sector faces significant challenges, including an ageing workforce and a lack of digital skills. The EU-funded project BEEYONDERS was launched to help address these issues and is now making its key outcomes publicly available.
Five info packs present the project results and are available at the links below:
· Robotic ground vehicles: advanced autonomous systems for hazardous and repetitive tasks
· Unmanned aerial vehicles: enhanced drones for site monitoring and data capture
· 3D concrete printing: new biocompatible materials for marine structures
· Wearable safety technologies: practical systems for worker safety and monitoring
· Digital twin platform: integrated real-time site, BIM, and environmental data.
"Since 2022, BEEYONDERS has developed and tested a new generation of technologies aimed at making construction sites safer and more efficient", says Antonio Alonso Cepeda, Innovation Manager at ACCIONA and Project Coordinator. "With these info packs, we provide industry stakeholders with a clear overview of the solutions delivered".
The info packs include results from testing across Europe in a variety of operational environments, from tunnels to highway maintenance.
"These are not complex scientific papers with difficult navigation", explains Davide Valenti, Communication Officer at ICONS and BEEYONDERS dissemination manager. "They are concise documents designed for stakeholders to quickly understand what each technology does and how it can be applied in practice".
Background:
Funded by the European Commission, BEEYONDERS aims to advance the European construction sector through robotics, additive manufacturing, and digital twins. The project seeks to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability, while reducing environmental impact and strengthening Europe's technological independence.
