Transformation at top of agenda for CPMRC's annual conference in Jan. 2011

9 December, 2010 - The 19th International Conference (Jan. 19-22, 2011) of the CPM Resource Center (CPMRC), an Elsevier company and leader in assisting healthcare organizations improve practice at the point of care, will focus on transformational leadership and feature advice from many business leaders, including Dee Hock, founder and CEO emeritus, Visa, Inc..

"The essence of transformation, real innovation and hope for healthcare will be brought to life by our conference presenters through stories, tools and methodologies," said Bonnie Wesorick, MSN, RN, DPNAP, FAAN, CPMRC founder and chairman emeritus, CPMRC. "We will have the opportunity to learn from people who have transformed their industries. Attendees will gain an insight on what transformation entails, the challenges that can occur and the overall outcome."

Hock has received several recognitions, notably from Money magazine, as one of the eight individuals who changed the way people lived in the previous quarter century. Hock's video presentation will be part of Wesorick's keynote session The Essence of Transformation, the Real Innovation and Hope for Healthcare: Lessons From a Transformation Sage, on Tuesday, Jan. 20. In the presentation, Hock speaks with Wesorick about the overall journey, providing insights from his book One From Many.

The conference will also feature other keynote addresses including Connie White Delaney, PhD, RN, appointed member of the U.S National Health Information Technology Police Committee; David Brailer, MD, Ph.D, former National Health Information Technology Coordinator and Michelle Troseth, MSN, RN, DPNAP, CPRMC Executive Vice President and Chief Professional Practice Officer.

In addition, more than 60 member presentations and educational workshops, covering a wide range of topics including practice, education, technology adoption, physician and team engagement, evidence-based tools and outcomes will be presented. Attendees will be able to actively network and engage with other professionals and key decision makers to discuss healthcare topics and trends, from professional practice to culture transformation.
