'Portraits of the Mind' author to present a visual history of the brain at public event in New York

Described by the New York Times as "an odyssey through the brain, illuminated by a rainbow," Carl Schoonover's new book, Portraits of the Mind: Visualizing the Brain from Antiquity to the 21st Century, is a stunning visual history of the brain.

The author will present the book, which includes beautiful black-and-white and vibrantly colored images that have never before been seen by the general public, at an event at the New York Academy of Sciences on December 15.
