'Discovery as an Occupation: Conversations with Cell Biologists'

What: An informal, good-natured, and intimate program that will use a classic "talk show" format, this experimental program will be targeted to young researchers. Sponsored by ASCB's PIC, the conversation will be wide-ranging, said by Rex Chisholm, who will be moderator

Why: How do researchers manage to remain productive and relevant throughout long scientific careers? How do they decide when it's time to stop doing an experiment? "I want to get at the questions that many of us have struggled with throughout our careers," Chisholm explained. "For example, how do you know if a scientific question is actually interesting or important? How do you know when you've made a wrong turn in your experimental strategy?"
