Oil Spill Symposium to be streamed live online

The University of Georgia/Georgia Sea Grant Oil Spill Symposium, titled "Building Bridges in Crisis," will be streamed live on www.uga.edu.

The event begins at 2 p.m. on Jan. 25 with a keynote address by Sylvia Earle, National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence and former chief scientist at NOAA, and continues on Jan. 26 with a full day of panel discussions featuring scientists, government officials, Gulf Coast community leaders and journalists from across the nation.

Panelists include Steve Murawski, former NOAA director of scientific programs and chief science advisor; UGA Professor of Marine Sciences Samantha Joye; and New York Times reporter Justin Gillis.
