John Theurer Cancer Center to host Eighth Annual Northern New Jersey Breast Cancer Conference

The Division of Breast Oncology at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center will host the Eighth Annual Northern New Jersey Breast Cancer Conference on Friday, February 18 from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. This free continuing medical education (CME) event will present highlights from the 34th Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, an international scientific symposium for breast cancer basic scientists and clinicians, to tri-state area oncologists, hematologists, other physicians and healthcare professionals.

"Each year, an international gathering of leading breast oncologists attend the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium to discuss the latest research and treatment methods in breast cancer," said Stanley Waintraub, M.D., F.A.C.P., Co-Chief of Breast Oncology at the John Theurer Cancer Center. "The Eighth Annual Northern New Jersey Breast Cancer Conference provides area physicians and healthcare professionals an opportunity to learn the latest breast cancer research findings so they can apply these learnings to the clinic."

The conference will take place in Hackensack University Medical Center's Hekemian Conference Center and is worth a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Topics to be covered include breast cancer screening policy, conflicting viewpoints in newer treatments for advanced breast cancer, radiation therapy in lymph node involvement, neoadjuvant therapy, clinical trials, genomic & molecular profiling, emerging targeted therapies, and use of hormonal therapies before and after diagnosis.
