Looking into crystal to see the future of carbon capture

(PhysOrg.com) -- Video profile examines Helmholtz Alberta Initiative researcher's use of crystal structures to filter gases produced during oilsands processing.

Steve Kuznicki is widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on mixed co-ordination molecular sieves, which are membranes that filter molecules by size through the use of natural and man-made crystal structures. In the oilsands industry, such sieves can be used to separate oxygen from carbon dioxide or mitigate the damaging effects of dihydrogen sulfide during processing.
