ASTRO wins 2 2011 Communicator Awards
The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has been honored with two Communicator Awards for its work on the fall 2010 edition of ASTROnews and the Radiation Therapy for Cancer brochure. Both of these publications were recognized with Awards of Distinction and awarded the Silver Communicator Award.
The Communicator Awards is an annual competition honoring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio. More than 6,000 entries were submitted this year from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms and public relations firms. The awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA).
"The Communicator Awards are a prestigious honor, and I would like to congratulate the Communications Department at ASTRO for all of their hard work and dedication year-round to produce these award winning publications," Laura Thevenot, ASTRO CEO, said. "ASTRO members and patients rely heavily on this information and this honor is well-deserved."
