Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation collaborative symposium on health-care experience and delivery

June 24th, 2009

The Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation will host Transform, a collaborative symposium on innovations in health care experience and delivery, Sept. 13󈝻. The symposium requires registration and is open to the public. It will feature nationally recognized speakers on topics focused on innovation methodology and innovations in health care delivery models, including Web-based tools. The center's work builds on a century of Mayo Clinic's experience implementing innovative ways to deliver better health care experiences to patients.

The symposium will be held at Rochester Civic Center and will be preceded by a grand opening and reception for a new innovation exhibit at Mayo Clinic Heritage Hall in the Mayo Building on the Mayo Clinic campus.

The symposium will feature over 20 presenters, including keynote speaker Clayton Christenson, D.B.A., professor at Harvard Business School and best-selling author of the book Innovator's Prescription. Also speaking will be innovators from IDEO, Kaiser Permanente, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Doblin, Organized Wisdom, MIT, American Well System, DiabetesMine, the Health2.0 Conference and Mayo Clinic.

Attendees at this symposium can connect with thoughtful colleagues from inside and outside the health care industry. Together, they will discover new models of care that will transform the experience and delivery of health care in the 21st century. Additional information about the conference, including registration, can be found at http://centerforinnovation.mayo.edu/transform.

"Many of history's greatest innovations resulted from the union of disciplines, from conversations that spanned schools of thought. The innovations in health care that help to foster population-level wellness will be no exception," says David Rosenman, M.D., a Mayo Clinic physician who practices Hospital Internal Medicine. He is the director of Mayo Clinic Innovation Curriculum and the National Symposium on Innovations in Health Care Experience and Delivery.
