August 15th, 2011

What: The Fourth AACR Conference on The Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved will bring together scientists to share the latest findings in genetics, epidemiology and treatment methods to better meet the needs of underserved populations.   • new data on the role of stress in aggressive breast cancer;
  • the effect of depression on screening rates in minority women;
  • factors that influence mammography rates in minority populations;
  • strategies for overcoming cultural barriers in patient communication;
  • the role of microRNA in cancer disparities; and
  • late-breaking genetic research on leukemia and childhood brain cancers.
