2011 European Muldisciplinary Cancer Congress abstracts online Sept. 12

September 8th, 2011

Europe's largest cancer congress, the 2011 European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress [1], will be publishing the majority of the abstracts that are to be presented at the meeting in Stockholm (Sweden) online at midday on Monday 12 September. The congress takes place between Friday 23 September and Tuesday 27 September 2011.

Journalists will be able to report on these abstracts from the time they are published on Monday; however, you need to be aware that, as these abstracts were submitted earlier in the year, the data in some of them may have been updated since then and newer data may be presented at the congress in Stockholm.

Some abstracts will not be published online on Monday 12 September. These include all those that feature in the official congress media programme, all the late-breaking abstracts, and a few others, including those selected as "best" abstracts. These will be held back and only published on the day that they are to be presented at the meeting. They will be embargoed to the day of presentation. For more precise information on the exact timing of these embargoes and information about the official media programme at the congress, please contact Emma Mason, Mary Rice or Lisa Lönner Pulkkinen (for Swedish journalists) – contact details below.

The abstracts can be found from 1200 hrs CEST on Monday 12 September at: http://stockholm2011.ecco-org.eu/programmesearch

There will be over 2,000 presentations at the 2011 European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress, and around 16,000 participants from 120 countries are expected to attend the meeting. It is the only cancer congress in Europe to offer presentations of cutting-edge research across the whole cancer field, and will include basic and translational research, first reports from high quality phase II and III clinical trials, epidemiology and much more.
