AACR hosts 10th International Conference on Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research
What: The 10th AACR International Conference on Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research will bring together scientists to share the latest findings in genetics, chemoprevention and lifestyle choices that may prevent cancer. As treatment continues to be a challenge for many forms of cancer, researchers are turning to ways that cancer can be prevented.
The conference, scheduled for Oct. 22-25, 2011, in Boston, will feature hundreds of abstracts and dozens of selected presentations, including:
- Lifetime weight gain and the risk of pancreatic and endometrial cancer;
- Results of a Phase III chemoprevention trial in melanoma;
- How coffee affects risk of skin cancer;
- If hot dogs really do increase your risk of colon cancer;
- New data from the Women's Health Initiative on NSAID use and colon cancer mortality;
- Why how much you drink can affect your risk of bladder cancer;
- New findings on how indoor tanning increases the risk of skin cancer; and
- A possible link between pain relievers and kidney cancer.
