AACR hosts molecular targets and cancer therapeutics conference

What: The AACR-NCI-EORTC International Conference: Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics will be held from Nov. 12-16, 2011, at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco.

This unique conference combines the efforts of the American Association for Cancer Research, the National Cancer Institute and the European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer. It is the only conference of its kind to focus exclusively on issues of drug development as cancer researchers continue their quest to develop personalized medicine.

The conference will feature hundreds of abstracts, including:

  • Positive phase I data of a new epigenetic therapy in lung cancer;
  • New data on KRAS mutations and non-small cell lung cancer;
  • Emerging angiogenesis agents;
  • Inhibition of AKT signaling pathways;
  • BRAF inhibitors in squamous cell carcinomas;
  • Predicting successful platinum chemotherapy in lung cancer;
  • How to determine chemo-sensitivity in melanoma; and
  • Blocking VEGF in patients with colon cancer.
