News media registration open for 20th World Diabetes Congress

News media registration for the biennial meeting of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is now open. The 20th World Diabetes Congress will be held October 18-22, 2009 at Palais des Congrčs de Montréal (Montréal Convention Centre) in Montreal, Canada.

One of the world's largest medical conferences, the 20th World Diabetes Congress is expected to draw 15,000 delegates, over 400 high level speakers and more than 200 national diabetes associations from over 160 countries.

The Congress will highlight the latest developments in clinical research, showcase new data on the diabetes pandemic, and promote political action to tackle the diabetes. The Congress not only attracts the diabetes scientific community of physicians, researchers, nurses and diabetes educators, it also welcomes people with diabetes, governments, health officials, the media, IDF Member Associations and industry.

The International Diabetes Federation Media Office will host a full-service press room with Internet access, computers, telelphones, computers, photocopy and fax machines, and refreshments.
