FASEB SRC Announces Conference Registration Open for: Translational Neuroimmunology: From Mechanisms to Therapeutics
The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) announces the opening of registration for the Science Research Conference (SRC): Translational Neuroimmunology: From Mechanisms To Therapeutics.
This conference will take place July 21 - August 5, 2012 in Carefree, Arizona. Attendees of this conference will study this exciting research frontier in depth throughout sessions on brain injury and repair; how the immune system combats brain infections and brain tumors or attacks the brain itself during autoimmunity; the mechanisms by which immune cells enter the normally restricted space of the brain to treat and/or cause brain disease; the intrinsic interactions between the brain, the immune system, and sex hormones; and how the new nanotechnologies and stem cells can be harnessed to make the immune system be a vehicle of new treatments for brain infections, autoimmunity and cancer. As a new field matures, its achievements are seen in its applications to the treatment of humans diseases. The ultimate aim of this conference will be to discuss the new avenues for the translation of decades of basic knowledge into new treatments for devastating diseases such as multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, and viral infections of the brain.
