Kessler Foundation's Dr. Chiaravalloti to speak at Virtual Reality Symposium at Walter Reed

Nancy Chiaravalloti, PhD, of Kessler Foundation will speak at the State of the Science Symposium at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday, November 30, 2012. The symposium, titled, "Virtual Reality and Its Role in Wounded Warrior & Veteran Care," is being held from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Memorial Auditorium. Dr. Chiaravalloti, an expert in cognitive rehabilitation research, will speak on the topic, "Virtual Reality for Neuropsychology."

Dr. Chiaravalloti is director of Neuropsychology & Neuroscience Research at Kessler Foundation. She was recently appointed director of Traumatic Brain Injury Research at the Foundation and also is principal investigator of the Northern New Jersey TBI System, a NIDRR-funded model system. Kessler Foundation partners with the University of Southern California in exploring applications for virtual reality that will further rehabilitation research in cognition and mobility.

This symposium features experts in different aspects of rehabilitation research including, Erik Wolf, PhD, of Walter Reed Medical Center, Albert 'Skip' Rizzo, PhD, of the University of Souther California, Emily Keshner, PhD, of Temple University, Deepan Kamaraj, MD, Harshal Mahajan, PhD, and Edmund LoPresti, PhD, of the University of Pittsburgh, Maria Schultheis, PhD, of Drexel University , and Audrey Schoomaker, BSN, CPT, RYT, of George Mason University.
