A glimpse into the future: how eLITHE is transforming the ceramic industry sustainably
The eLITHE project, co-funded by the European Union, has released a video explaining its approach to decarbonising the ceramic industry, directly contributing to the European 2050 climate neutrality target.
By implementing innovative technologies such as microwave-based furnaces, hybrid tunnel kilns, and advanced smelters, eLITHE aims to demonstrate cost-effective and sustainable electrification of high-temperature thermal processes. These technologies will be tested and validated at three demo sites in Spain, Greece, and Germany.
A key aspect of this strategy is the integration of digital solutions that facilitate the design, optimisation, and upscaling of electric heating technologies in industrial scenarios. eLITHE's innovations in energy efficiency and industrial electrification can enhance state-of-the-art technologies, reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
The presentation video highlights the project's key initiatives, such as tackling the environmental impact of traditional heating methods, creating digital tools to improve energy management processes, and creating innovative materials compatible with electric heating.
This video offers a glimpse into the future and the sustainable benefits eLITHE will bring to the industry.
