"Fostering the uptake and social impact of the energy transition through citizen engagement" - BRIDGE workshop
"Fostering the uptake and social impact of the energy transition through citizen engagement"—BRIDGE workshop at the 2024 European Week of Regions and Cities
Despite growing recognition of the pivotal role that citizen engagement plays in the energy transition, there are still many barriers and challenges to the effective involvement of communities.
To share strategies and methods that can overcome such barriers, the BRIDGE Initiative is organising a workshop during the European Week of Regions and Cities, the biggest annual event on cohesion policy organised by the European Commission. The workshop "Fostering the uptake and social impact of the energy transition through citizen engagement", will take place on October 10th at 9:30-10:30 at Albert Borschette Congress Center, Brussels—room AB-2A.
The workshop is an initiative of the BRIDGE Consumer and Citizen Engagement Working Group. On this occasion, BRIDGE is partnering with EUROCITIES, Johanneum Research, Smart Innovation Norway and the City of Athens.
During the event, good practices and successful examples from BRIDGE projects and from local authorities will be discussed. The goal of the workshop is to empower policymakers with insights and tools to enhance citizen participation and motivation for a successful energy transition at the local level.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with relevant experts and stakeholders coming from research as well as local and international policy arena.
Sharing useful strategies to overcome barriers will be the first step to achieve an equitable, inclusive and socially impactful energy transition, ensuring a long-lasting change.
Visit the event's page and register by September 15th, 2024, to secure your place at the BRIDGE workshop in Brussels.
